About the Internship Program

The Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF) offers a summer internship. The internship program is typically best suited for undergraduate students who are pursuing journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, or videography, but the preferences of the foundation vary each cycle. If you think you'd be a good fit for our program, feel free to apply below.

Each summer internship cycle typically lasts about 12 weeks, typically in a hybrid format. The position is paid and interns typically work 25 hours per week. A CGIF intern should be highly motivated and self-starting with the abilities to collaborate and adapt.

Background

The CGIF established the internship program in 2022 to help undergraduate students gain valuable experience working in an education and STEM-based nonprofit. The CGIF strives to make every intern feel welcomed into our small but mighty team all while providing ample opportunities to grow professionally.

Summer 2023: Applications are closed

"This internship has opened my eyes to the world of materials science and taught me a lot about working for a nonprofit. A lot of the skills I developed over the last 8 months helped me get my post grad job at a nonprofit in Chicago. I am very thankful for the opportunity and will continue to expand on these skills as I grow in my career."

—Maya Meade, 2022 Intern
