Project Grant

Apply for a Project Grant to propose a creative project that expands materials science education in your community!

Each applicant can request funding for up to $2,500 for their project, which should be directly applicable to expanding materials science education or training the next generation of glass and ceramic professionals.

Completed applications received by the submission deadline will be reviewed by the CGIF’s Program Committee. Those applications that support activities aligned with the CGIF’s mission and vision will be considered for funding at the next Board of Trustees meeting in October. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Already participating in our Project Grant Program? An update is due every March 15 and September 15 until the completion of your project. Visit the Project Grant Update Portal to submit your grant reports.

Project Grant Application Tips

  • Please note that Project Grants should support training the next generation of professionals in ceramic and glass materials science.
  • Please note that the foundation does not typically fund requests for research projects, equipment, or staff salaries.
  • Applicants will be notified about the status of their Project Grant application each October.
  • Review our Grant Funding Guidelines for a complete list of funding requirements and reach out with questions before applying!
