Attend a Teacher Training Workshop!
During the seven hour professional development session, middle and high school teachers have the opportunity to perform hands-on experiments of the nine lessons in the Materials Science Classroom Kit, network with professionals at an industry luncheon, and earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Teachers will also receive a free kit to take home.
Educators from across disciplines are welcomed to join! In past workshops, we've trained K-12 teachers in chemistry, engineering, and the arts.
CGIF hosts multiple teacher training events each year, so if you are interested in sponsorship or volunteering for an event, email foundation@ceramics.org to learn about the available opportunities.
“We're leaving with all this material and the know-how to just go into our classroom... I'm excited to take the kit and apply it to what I'm teaching to my students in my classroom.”
— Debbie J.
“The industry lunch is really fun, talking to people that are out in the real world, doing the jobs that my students need to be aware of. It’s important to learn the inside information about how they got to their positions."
— Catherine A.
