The European Ceramic Society (ECerS) will host their 2022 summer school in Krakow, Poland on July 8 and 9. This year, the topic will be “Fundamentals and Advanced Technologies of Sintering.” The summer school will be organized prior to the Ceramics in Europe conference that will be held in Krakow in July.

The ECerS Summer School in Krakow will consist of 10 modules given by internationally renowned teachers who are experts in the field. They will welcome 50 to 70 young researchers from research and industrial fields around the world to attend the summer school.

The Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF) is offering $1,000 in travel support to selected undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students from non-European based universities. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be members of The American Ceramic Society, Material Advantage, Keramos, or the Global Graduate Researcher Network.

Students wishing to apply for financial assistance are strongly encouraged to first secure support from their home institutions for the experience. To determine support eligibility, students must submit the following:

  1. A completed application.
  2. Attach a brief letter of recommendation from a faculty member.

The travel grant application deadline is Monday, May 9th, 2022.

Summer school attendees are encouraged to also attend ECerS Ceramics in Europe Conference which will be held in Krakow, July 10 – 14, 2022.
