Dr. John C. Mauro
Dorothy Pate Enright Professor and Head of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University
Best known as co-inventor of Corning Gorilla® Glass, John is the author of nearly 400 scientific publications and is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of the American Ceramic Society. He is the author of Materials Kinetics: Transport and Rate Phenomena and co-author of Fundamentals of Inorganic Glasses, 3rd edition. John is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors with 85 granted U.S. patents. He is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering and the World Academy of Ceramics.
Dr. Subhash H. Risbud
Distinguished Professor, Emeritus in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Davis
Widely recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to ceramics and glass, Subhash is the author of over 300 scientific publications and holds six U.S. patents. He has led major research in spark plasma sintering, electronic packaging substrates, and amorphous oxynitride–oxycarbide materials. Subhash is a Fellow of The American Ceramic Society and has been an active member for 54 years. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the W.D. Kingery Award, the Ross Coffin Purdy Award, and the James Mueller Award. In 2025, Subhash also received the honor of Distinguished Life Member by The American Ceramic Society in recognition of his contributions to the ceramic and glass profession.
Dr. Eeshani Godbole
Research Scientist at GE Aerospace
Dr. Eeshani Godbole is a Research Scientist at GE Aerospace in Niskayuna, NY, developing high-temperature ceramics for commercial aero engines. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where she researched next-generation thermal and environmental barrier coatings. She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and serves as a reviewer for many academic journals. Her honors include the ACerS 2024 Morgan Medal and Global Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award, the 2021 Graduate Excellence in Materials Science (GEMS) Award, and the Best Poster Award at the ECI Thermal and Environmental Barrier Coatings VI conference. She leads the professional development subcommittee for the GE Aerospace Research Center Women’s Network and has helped organize IGNITE MSE workshops at ICACC and MS&T.
