Albright College recently announced that it was awarded over $499,000 for Science Research Institute (SRI) programming through the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s PAsmart Advancing Grants program.

SRI is a multi-year grant recipient of the Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF), which offered a letter of support for SRI’s PAsmart Advancing Grant application. The grant funds will be used to serve low-income and underserved populations and their teachers.

The CGIF is proud to continue its support of SRI’s programs. The SRI model enables students to interact with peers, professionals, scientists, and specialists to gain real-world exposure to varying aspects of materials science. Hands-on use of scientific equipment and the ability to conduct advanced-level research will help students have a significant competitive advantage as they pursue higher education and enter the workforce.
