The European Ceramic Society (ECerS) will host their 2023 summer school in Lyon, France on June 29 and 30. This year, the topic will be “Advanced Characterization Techniques.” The summer school will be organized prior to the Ceramics in Europe conference that will be held in Lyon in July.

The ECerS Summer School in Lyon will consist of seven modules given by internationally renowned teachers who are experts in the field. They will welcome 50 young researchers from research and industrial fields around the world to attend the summer school.

The CGIF is offering $1,000 in travel support to selected undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students from non-European based universities. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be members of The American Ceramic SocietyMaterial AdvantageKeramos, or the Global Graduate Researcher Network.

Students wishing to apply for financial assistance are strongly encouraged to first secure support from their home institutions for the experience. To determine support eligibility, students must submit a completed application (see below).

The travel grant application deadline is Friday, April 7th, 2023.

Applicants will be notified by Wednesday, April 19th, 2023.
